Coolant Day
I started out under the car, thinking I was going to replace some of the rubber bits on the rear axle. Much to my chagrin I failed to order two pieces of one of the bushings I needed, so that put an end to that job on the spot.
Looking for something else to do, I decided to finish up flushing and filling the cooling system.
Not much to see here, since the system was running straight water in it for the last week while I got the last of the old coolant and crud out of it. Since I was splashing around in the engine compartment, I figured it might be a good time to do some cleaning on the other side of the engine, too.
So here is the left side of the engine before i started degreasing and scrubbing.
After this I closed up the cooling system, which had been flushed and allowed to drain for an hour or two, and filled it with a 50-50 mix of Mercedes coolant. A test drive took place afterwards, where the car performed perfectly and all was well upon inspection.
No wishing to lose any time I had available, I did a quick headlight adjustment as the headlights were slightly out of adjustment and not projecting as far as they should. Once I replace the front springs and the front end is riding higher again, I’ll probably have to adjust them again, but for now they’re set and in the proper position for the time being.
