Here is a page of photos of the 1997 SL500 and some of the work that has been done on it to date.

I had all of the convertible top cylinders rebuilt by Klaus at Top Hydraulics, the expert in this area for all high line convertible top systems.

The hard top headliner was almost gone, which is pretty common with this model for its age, so you’ll see photos of the replacement below.  Take note that I went to the trouble to install some sound deadening material in the top as well to cut down on cabin noise.

The soft top windows were getting a little cloudy, so a good buffing out cleared them right back to almost new!  The soft top itself was almost like new, so I’ve done little more than apply some RaggTopp fabric protector to keep it that way.

Some extra touches, such as the safety triangle that is deleted in all US spec cars was added back.  High quality metallized window tint was added to keep the heat load down in the cabin as well as to minimize UV damage to the interior.
